Once, Twice, Three Times

Will the third time be a charm? The U.S. Military will be headed to the lovely country of Iraq for a third time. BHO made it clear in his own way that they will only be advisors and not engaging in combat roles, and we all know that we can trust every thing he says. He never lies to the people, right. We already did the advisors only once and that cost us over ten years and over 50,000 killed in action and nearly destroyed America will internal strife, rioting and protests. Our Military won all of the battles but the politicians managed to lose the war. Ten years of blood and sacrifice was for what, nothing was gained and every thing was lost. Returning soldiers were spat on and called baby killers. Who was to blame? Politicians and the news media. From the beginning of that there was no clear plan to win. LBJ came up with the policy of Vietnamization of the war, letting them defend their own country, and the drawdown began, we saw how that came out in May of 1975, this country left behind many friends who had to live through, the few that did, the onslaught of the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong. The U.S. involvement in Vietnam began as far back as WW 1 by political and foreign policies and were set in concrete at the conclusion of WW 2. But the matter of Vietnam is for another post and another time. This post is About Iraq and our involvement there and the failure of politicians and failed foreign policies, and most importantly the political expediency that has our Military facing a foe for the third time.

The first military action against Iraq, in recent history, was brought about by the attack on, defeat of the Kuwaiti military and the occupation of Kuwait in August of 1990, by Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi military. The U.S. military was deployed to Saudi Arabia to defend that country from invasion by Iraq. The U.S. Military sat in Saudi Arabia training and preparing for war while waiting on the politicians and the U.N. to form a coalition of the willing to fight Saddam Hussein’s military. We were perfectly capable of defeating Iraq without any help, and it would have been better for the world if we had gone it alone. The coalition was formed, the U.N. set the rules and terms for disengagement and an attack was launched against Iraq. It all began with an air attack aimed at weakening and destroying Iraqi air defenses and ground equipment, then the ground war began. The Iraqi military was soundly defeated on the battlefield in pretty short order, we thought we were in it to win it and we set our sights on Baghdad. An early morning briefing was set for another day to face the enemy and objectives. A crisp and shiny officer came to the briefing an said that it was over, we thought Iraq had surrendered. We learned a short time later that Iraq had not surrendered that had only in fact met the requirements set by the U.N. and were leaving Kuwait. The army of Iraq was only to leave Kuwait and return to their own borders and remain in their own country. To make it short and simple Saddam Hussein got a sweetheart deal after leaving Kuwait. Not only did Saddam Hussein get to remain in power he was able to maintain what was left of his Military including aircraft. A senior commander was also dismayed by the terms set by the U.N. and simply said, we would be back in ten years, he was wrong about that it took, 12 years. Once again the American military won all the battles and the politicians ended up losing the war. The fact that Saddam Hussein remained in power and still had fighting assets, led to airstrikes on Iraq once again when he deployed his assets against The Kurds in repayment for their being disloyal to him. More airstrikes and still no complete victory and still he remained in power. The coalition of the willing was to satisfy or pacify the Arab world not to win a war. Failed policies, political correctness, politicians and political expedience will doom the civilized world.

The next military action against Iraq in 2003 was over alleged weapons of mass destruction and Congress approved the use of force resolution. Once the bombs starting falling and the U.S. military crossed the border the existence or absence of WMD’s no longer mattered the U.S. had invaded another country. The intention of this invasion was to remove Saddam Hussein from power and destroy his weapons. If the U.N. had kept their nose out of the first military action in Iraq and if the administration at the time had been less concerned about the feelings of the Arab world Iraq would have been totally beaten and forced to surrender and Hussein would have no longer been a problem to Iraq or the world, problem solved. The war with Iraq from 1990-1991 was for what purpose, it settled nothing and failing to finish that one led, to but did not cause the next one in 2003. The 2003 war with Iraq came to a close in 2011, fulfilling a campaign promise. The American military had once again won all of the battles, and again the politicians with their own agendas and promises once again failed to win the war. America had faced and beaten the same enemy twice and still nothing was finished.

Military Leaders and Kings of long ago had a saying, it went something like, One should not make war with the same people too many times, they will learn your tactics and use them against you.

As to Iraq the failures of 1991 led to the failures of 2011 and are leading us to repeat it all in 2014 all in the name of what, political correctness, political expedience and political agendas. The administrations abandoned the Kurds in 1991 and 2011, yet they still trust us. They suffered under Saddam Hussein and are now threatened by ISIS.

The failures of 1991 were not the direct cause of 2003, but the failures of 2011 are the direct cause of events in Iraq in 2014

As to the matter of the Iraqi Kurds, maybe the time has come to recognize who would be a friend and ally, and treat them as such. The Iraqi Sunnis and Shiites, will one day be a friend and ally once they overcome their religious differences and not until, and should be treated as such.

Now The U.S. prepares to send troops to Iraq for a third time, even if they are only advisors they are still American Military sent back to a country that had already been beaten twice. If you ask why, the answer is because of politicians, political correctness, political expedience and failed political policies just like all the other times in history. Politicians, political policies, political correctness and political expedience will doom the civilized world.

Kings and military commanders of times long ago recognized the dangers of fighting an enemy too often, they would adopt and use your tactics against you. In today’s world the presidents or prime ministers are the military commanders, or they are labeled as such though most if not all have no military experience. Our present administration may have committed the biggest possible military “sin”, not only is our military fighting the same enemy too often they are training them with our tactics and equipping them with our equipment.

If the U.S. is forced into another ground war in Iraq against the ISIS fighters the military will be facing an enemy using the same tactics and weapons, a little hard to win. Our military may be forced into finding out just how good our training and equipment is. With both sides using the same equipment and maneuvering in the same manner, many lives may be lost to “friendly fire” incidents.

BHO like LBJ previously, is sending out an aircraft with a pilot on board to bomb a truck. Many jets and pilots were lost looking to bomb ox carts in Vietnam. ISIS will acquire surface-to-air missiles and deploy them, again history may repeat itself, men and equipment lost looking to bomb trucks, not an army or a legitimate military target. BHO like LBJ previously, set about of forming a policy of Iraqization of the war. The war was started by the U.S. and should have been finished by the U.S.

The reason Kings and Military Commanders of long ago avoided fighting the same enemy too many times is that they went with their men into battle, and sooner or later they too would be killed by an enemy using the same tactics that were used to defeat him. The victor taught his enemy to be the victor, and soon the victor became the vanquished. It is real hard to beat yourself at anything.

Todays world is quite different Kings, Presidents, Presidents who see themselves as Kings and Military Commanders sit in a war room far removed from the battle make the rules and some even pick the targets for military action. They lead from the rear and never experience the dangers they order others to face. Few of the Leaders of the world have had any military experience and their children are too privileged to go into combat.

In my unit in Iraq in 1991 there were several Vietnam veterans, Warrant Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers, I looked up to those men. I came to a realization they had twice in one lifetime and in one military career, they had won all the battles but were denied victory, a victory they had fought for and seen many of their friends dying trying to achieve.

Some of the advisors now going to Iraq may have never seen combat, but some of them that will be going may have been there in 1991 and many times from 2003-2011 and like all previous they too have won all the battles and never achieved total victory.

It is time for the politicians to either pony up and go or give the Generals the order and then get the hell out-of-the-way and shut-up.

Saddam Hussein remained in power with what remained of his military in tact just by meeting the U.N. resolution and withdrawing and returning to his country. Imagine a world if the U.N. was in existence in WW 2 and only demanded Germany, Japan and Italy to go home and stop fighting and the war would end. While in their own country with the leaders still in power still developing weapons and then breaking out and being set loose on the world once again. What is your favorite foreign language? It doesn’t matter because it would be English as one of the three aforementioned would be your primary language. Wars must be fought to a conclusion, there must be a victor and a vanquished or you will meet again in battle. If this non-sense of a draw or a truce continues the shoe may be on the other foot, as they say.

The tipping point and economics

Recently there was a post about a congressman who wanted to raise gas taxes, then abolish them and implement a miles driven tax, to this man I say lift your head out of the trough and look around then think about what you are saying. If you are unable to think let me do that for you, but the odds of you seeing this are slim at best, that is unless you have friends in the NSA.

This and no nation on earth can tax itself out of debt, the same as no family can spend itself out of poverty. What we have here is another government agency, this time the DOT that has run out of money and the account will be empty by the end of summer. I can not understand why the welfare programs never run out of money. The roads, highways, byways and bridges are used by every American at sometime or another even if just to get to a store to support the local economy. More importantly the avenues of travel provide the working Americans a way to get to work, so they can pay the taxes that support your welfare programs. I might as well clear this up for you now, Welfare is supposed to be a helping hand during times of hardship, it was never meant to be a lifestyle or a career. I may as well clear this up for you while I am at it, social welfare programs are not an entitlement, with the exception of true disability social security is an old age and survivor benefit program or at least that was the intention.

I never received a formal education beyond High School so I never studied economics, but I learned economics the hard way having more month than money. If you have more month than money you need to make some changes and prioritize your spending covering the needs, saving a little to cover emergencies and to hell with the wants if there is not enough to cover them. This is called having a budget, try making one and sticking to it. But you will not do that, since you landed your ass in congress you have done as all the rest have done, you stuck your face in the trough and began feeding on the sweat and labors of others and spend money like there is no end to it. The voters elected you to do the people’s business, if the business of the people was to mooch off the labors of others and spend money wildly you must be a splendid congressman.

Maybe this slipped past you there are still many Americans who are willing to work but your social programs have done nothing to spur job growth. If these people had jobs they would be going to work buying fuel for their vehicles and paying into the DOT coffers. So if you and your ilk truly want things to improve focus on the economy and loosen the stranglehold and let the capitalist system take off. More jobs equals more cars on the road which replenish the DOT. More taxes will equal fewer cars on the road which will equal less money for DOT.

Now back to your idea of a mileage tax. The goods people buy in the stores of America must first get to the stores, most come by truck from distribution centers. The distribution centers may or may not be near a rail hub either way they will a some point be moved by truck. The mileage tax paid by the trucking company will be passed on to the consumer in higher prices, then the consumer will be assessed a mileage tax just to get to the store to purchase the goods. Just think of the cash you will have coming in, or maybe not. The producers will only drive as much as necessary and your cash cow will start thinning down. To prove that you did not think any of this through before opening your mouth, what about people who fill gas cans to run generators during power outages, generators go zero miles so they will be gas tax-free, as a matter of fact a person could walk to the gas station to fill a gas can how would that be taxed again it used the roads zero miles to get to the gas station. Maybe you and your ilk should focus on getting more vehicles on the road by spurring the economy and job growth.

And finally think on this, I work now because I want to not because I have to and there are many like me. I have multiple vehicles because I want to and they all burn fossil fuels and each one uses the roads and must be refueled and you get highway taxes from me. As I pointed out I work because I want to, but how many people have a job because I support the local economy. They must get to work somehow most get there by private transportation and they to pay gas taxes. If the mileage tax is ever implemented my vehicles will be refueled before implementation, remain idle, placed on blocks so as not to flat spot the tires and started occasionally to keep things lubed. While they remain idle there will be no need to renew the tags so the county coffers will lose money. There will be no need for insurance as they will not be driven the insurance company will lose money. There will be not need to repair or perform routine maintenance so I will need no parts or pieces especially those expensive tires, and the automotive repair industry will lose money. And lastly since I will not be driving everyday doing my part to spur the local economy so the person who has a job because I have one will no longer be needed and then his vehicle will sit idle and the process repeats itself and there may just be a person who has a job because that person had one and again it all repeats. The economy will only sink farther into the toilet. The trough you feed from may have less in it because you took the wrong approach to keep it full. So genius you need to think on just how much one part of economics relies on another.. When I must go to resupply on the things I can not get from the land I will simply ride a “grass burner”.

The taxation on mileage will not lower the price of gas the price will remain the same as the fuel delivery companies will pass their operating costs on to the consumers. Paying the same amount for gas just to get to a job to pay taxes on my income and then paying a separate tax just to get there is not going to happen. I will simply leave my job and live off of what I have, making adjustments as necessary, you know the budget thing. I am taxed enough already. This is called checking out and off the financial grid, I know some that have already done this and will wait for better times and a more sensible government before checking back in.

So genius I close with this raising taxes or implementing new taxes is not the answer, getting America back to work will solve most of the problems. Another thing that would help to lessen the burden on the producers of America would be if you and your ilk could do a little some thing about securing the southern border, we already had enough people out of work and hungry. Oh before I forget quit saying its a humanitarian effort for the kids, you are from the side that is okay with abortion and don’t give a damn about kids.

An out of control and lawless government

BHO has set the dangerous precedent of not enforcing laws, changing laws on a whim, selectively enforcing laws and even worse encouraging and in some cases allowing unlawful behavior, not only BHO but his entire administration. America is supposed to be a nation of laws and citizens living by the rule of law. We as citizens are expected to obey and follow the letter the law 100% of the time or face the consequences for breaking the law. To prove this fact there are thousands of jails and prisons spread across this country to house and punish the law breakers. Forfeiting one’s freedom should be enough incentive to follow the law but it is not, the same as the possibility of forfeiting one’s life should be incentive enough but again it is not. This would be a good time to point out that we now live under the law of man because man stopped living under the law of God. The 10 original laws written on two stone tablets covered every thing that now consumes volumes and thousands of laws and are covering the same ground and yet the jails and prisons stay full.

Criminal behavior is not only tolerated by BHO and his administration it is encouraged and rewarded and possibly even ordered. The illegal immigration issue that has the nation consumed at the moment did not just happen, it was planned. The administration is dispersing the illegals across the country and even allowing them to fly without identification. When they get to where they are going there will be no accountability and they will simply be let loose on the cities and towns of America. The administration has no idea who these illegals are nor do they care, they are only a tool for BHO and his administration. Busing them can cause a problem as was demonstrated by the good citizen of Murietta, Ca. They will overcome this by flying them to closed military bases around the country where civilians have no access.

The problem and the question is if they were allowed, encouraged, and rewarded for breaking at least one law by being here illegally, how can you expect them to obey any laws especially if they follow the example of the president? Then add in the fact that BHO says they will begin deportations if congress gives the money to do it, that amounts to blackmail, especially given the administration created this mess to begin with. BHO even wants to be rewarded for bad behavior. Where will the money come from? Will one of the redundant and un-needed social welfare programs be cut or will the military take another cut to pay this demand. It amounts to America being taken hostage and having to pay its own ransom, but will not be released and there is no one to rescue us. As ugly as this illegal immigration, actually an invasion, is BHO set another dangerous precedent earlier this summer.

BHO traded 5 Taliban commanders from Gitmo for 1 military deserter without notifying congress as required by law, breaking yet another law, one that he signed. Trading 5 for 1 is to say the least a lopsided trade. There is one U.S.M.C. Sergeant being held in a Mexican prison, are the illegals being traded for the Sergeant. Since none of our allies can trust America to keep its word and no one outside the Muslim world trusts BHO, he may be taking the illegals first before the Sergeant is released, they probably set the terms. After all they saw the results of the last trade and he does trade lopsided.

The illegal border crossings may be providing cover for his next violation of law. Gitmo is still open even though it was one of his first executive orders to have it closed. Keep your eyes on Gitmo.

Dangers ahead and all around

Each passing day only exposes America to more dangers. We are seeing the effects of a failed administration and a narcissistic president that is determined to destroy America with one manufactured crisis after another, each one designed to provide cover for the last one and the next one. The ultimate goal of BHO and his corrupt administration I fear will soon be revealed and it does not look good for the home team.

What I read and analyze keeps leading back to two things BHO said. The first was on the campaign trail and it was about wealth redistribution. I must point out that money is not the only source of wealth. The second was the statement that we needed a civilian force just as well equipped and just as well-trained as our military. He never did say what that civilian force would or should be or where they would come from.

First I will address the civilian force. There has been millions upon millions of dollars spent training and equipping the moderate terrorist groups in the Middle-East and Africa under the guise of overthrowing rogue regimes. The terror groups have been provided with military equipment and arms and there have also been stockpiles of equipment, arms and ammunition left conveniently for them to steal. By definition the terror groups are a civilian force as they represent no established country or government and they are indeed well-trained and equipped now. As the terror group ISIS was overrunning cities in Iraq they were not only capturing arms, ammunition and equipment and robbing banks acquiring wealth they were also freeing the criminals from prison and growing their ranks. They have also captured oil fields and refineries, that were reported as being retaken by government forces. I have no confidence in the news media and believe the terrorists still hold what they have overrun. I also believe based on past actions and statements by BHO and his administration if ISIS takes Baghdad and indeed all of Iraq, the administration will recognize them as the legitimate government of Iraq, based on their recognition of the MB as the rightful and legitimate government of Egypt.

Now I must back up a bit and point out things that have happened right here in America in the past few years. It was not all that long ago that the country was abuzz with the law enforcement agencies being given and acquiring surplus military equipment and arms I for one was wondering why local and state law enforcement agencies were needing such equipment for, after all America is not a “banana republic” with a “tin pot” dictator in charge. There was no need to equip law enforcement in such a manner, after all the average citizen is no threat to government. Then there was the ammunition shortage that was created by the federal government placing orders for millions upon millions of rounds of ammunition.

Now I move forward to the latest crisis, the massive illegal border crossings that are being reported as unaccompanied children. We all know that is a lie. But regardless, even if the children are unaccompanied they must be reunited with their families. Will BHO and his administration simply deport them or will they bring the parents here to retrieve their rug-rats? The Border Patrol is so busy gathering up and caring for these rug-rats that they are unable to fulfill the primary duties of protecting the border. But given the reports lately the Border Patrol has been castrated and must run from anyone who throws a rock their way. There is no way of knowing who or what is crossing the southern border. None of the illegals are being screened for disease they are just being flown or bused to different locals. The federal government may be spreading disease and sickness across America by transporting illegals. There have been reports of U.N. vehicles on American soil, at first I dismissed that as not unusual all member countries donate equipment to the U.N. and it would not be unusual to repaint them and remark them prior to shipment and they would be moved by trucks that may or may not be covered. Then all the sudden the illegal immigration is being refered to as a humanitarian crisis and humanitarian crisis’ are the U.N.’s specialty even though every crisis has been worsened by their presence. Now I am not so ready to dismiss the U.N. vehicles as a normal course of support for equipment.

Now go back for a minute to the militarization of law enforcement. The average citizen here in America is no threat to government. That only leaves two possibilities the federal government completely distrusts the citizens and know that eventually they will push too far or they were preparing for a huge crime wave or even a third possibility is a combination of distrust and a huge crime wave. Either way the federal government and law enforcement agencies are arming up for something.

Now back to the border, we citizens have no idea of who or what is pouring across the border. Small arms and ammunition could certainly be moving across the border especially now that the Border Patrol is distracted. Didn’t BHO and the DOJ move weapons across the border the other way, during Fast and Furious, no one yet has said who they were intended for or for what purpose much less what types of arms or how many. There is not much talk about Fast and Furious of late, maybe because BHO keeps giving us new things and crisis’ to talk about. Even some crew served weapons could be moving across the border. Large equipment would be a different matter someone would notice a flow of equipment and sound the alarm. No one seems to scream too loud over a few thousand rug-rats even though no one knows where they are really from or what they may be carrying or leaving along the way for others to find and use. Since we have so few friends and allies to our south we have no idea much less control over what is arriving on cargo vessels from all over the world. Our friends directly to the south have vast amounts of real estate not under their control, it is controlled by gangs and drug lords, most that is under control outside of the large cities and tourist resorts is ripe with corruption and coercion.

Now go back farther in time and you will arrive at a place and time where America was at war with a people who moved their entire war making effort on their backs, bicycles and carts even using submerged bridges and trails, and were not above going through other countries to accomplish their goal which was to push America out and remove American influence from that part of the world. And they were not above using children if it would get the job done.

Now move forward in time and arrive in Libya where the rebel forces were given war making equipment to overthrow their dictator, they could not get it done so BHO intervened. The weapons and equipment they were given and gained in Libya are being used in Iraq and Syria with great success and enabled them to capture much more, now they are a force to be reckoned with. Some of the arms and equipment they acquired in Libya was strategically located for them to find and apparently steal.

Now return to America and the militarization of law enforcement. Since it would be difficult and a logistical challenge to say the least to move war making equipment through Mexico, a much easier way to do it would be to have them walk here carrying what would be needed immediately and just place the heavy equipment where they can find it, on our own land. Our government is no more ready to fight off a large-scale terrorist attack now than in 2001. Who is crossing the border and why? Why shrink the military?

The true wealth of America is Freedom and Liberty without them we could not enjoy the side effects which are money and possessions. What wealth was BHO talking about redistributing? To redistribute anything it must first be taken from the rightful owner and then given to another. Maybe I was wrong about that “banana republic” and “tin-pot” dictator thing.

Inheritance, ownership, responsibility and denial

You would think that after nearly 6 years the liberals would quit blaming the former President and his administration for all that is wrong in America, the government and the world, sadly this is not the case.

BHO did not inherit the office of President of The United States of America. He actively campaigned for the office, he wanted to be president no one made him take the job and it was not forced upon him. He wanted to be president for the perks and rewards, but wants and accepts none of the responsibility. The liberal media refuses to lay the failures at his feet and by this, they have aided him in his role as a president who can not be held accountable, and therefore none of his administration is accountable. Everything rolls right off of them much like water rolls off a ducks back. BHO became president of a nation engaged in 2 wars, wars being waged in the open not in secret, he knew they were ongoing while campaigning for president. The VA has been having troubles for years, everyone knew that, everyone promises to fix the VA, but no one does. BHO was even awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after becoming president of a nation at war, based on what, promising to end the wars. A war that was won in Iraq was lost, and that nation has erupted in violence. Libya was attacked without provocation and that nation has erupted into violence that mat escalate into a civil war. Four Americans were killed in Benghazi, that would be Libya, the very same Libya that was attacked without provocation and destabilized. Syria was threatened with military action for the alleged use of chemical weapons, the threats were thwarted by the intervention of Russia and the fact no allies would join in. The liberal media occasionally reports on the renewed violence Iraq and Libya but will not lay the blame at the feet of those responsible for the failures in foreign policy and will certainly not say the truth, that there is no foreign policy in this administration. Complete ownership of Libya and Syria is with the BHO administration, but since there was no one to “inherit” these two disasters from there is no one to blame.

In addition to having total ownership of Libya, Benghazi and Syria, BHO and his administration has complete ownership of Fast and Furious, NSA spying, Obamacare, the use of the IRS to target the opposition, the BLM land grabs and the VA secret waiting list, these and many more have happened on the watch of the BHO administration and still no one accepts the responsibility or has been blamed for the failures and the liberal media remains silent. Why, the same as before there was no one to “inherit” these disasters from and therefore there can be no blame or responsibility. Although there have been liberals that blame the VA scandal on the waging of two illegal wars. Soon there may even be some “buffoon” who will blame the VA patients themselves for being wounded. Bureaucrats at the IRS and the VA have received bonuses for poor or no service. How can one receive bonuses for poor service unless that was a requirement to receive the bonus in the first place. Were the bonuses at the IRS dependent on how many of the opposition you could silence? Were the bonuses at the VA dependent on how many veterans you could deny services or lie about how much service was given?

The failed foreign policy, or better the lack of a foreign policy of this administration has cost more than the loss of Iraq, the impending loss of Afghanistan, the destabilization of Libya and the latest, the crisis in the Ukraine, it may well cause the collapse of NATO. Iraq was lost and Afghanistan will be lost for the same reasons, the failure of this administration to negotiate a Status of Forces Agreement(SOFA) with either country. How could this happen? BHO has no experience and is unwilling to negotiate, look at his record of negotiating with the republicans in congress where his policy is my way or the highway. Now we come to the latest foreign policy blunder, Russia, the Ukraine and the Crimea. Still no blame for BHO. Now BHO wants to clarify his foreign policy, frankly I do not see how the non-existent can be any clearer.

Think on this if you will. At a will reading you learn that you have been given a house, the same house that you always wanted and now you have it. You have just been given ownership of a house, the previous owner is no longer responsible for the house you are. It is a nice looking house so you decide to move in. Shortly after moving in and getting settled in your new home it begins to rain, as the rain becomes a downpour you discover that the roof leaks. You gather buckets, pots, pans and anything you can to catch the water to minimize the water damage. After the rain subsides you dispose of the captured water and climb on the roof for a look. You discover that the roof is corrupted and must be either repaired or replaced. You are angry about the condition of the roof, you forget for a moment that the corrupted roof is your roof, you begin to complain that the house you “inherited” has a corrupted roof and demand that the previous owner be held accountable. After all it is not your fault, all of your “friends” agree with you and together all blame the former owner. Then you remember that the corrupted roof is your roof and the former owner is not responsible for the roof you are. Then you make a really bad decision, even you have no roofing experience you decide to do it yourself. The harder you try the worse you make it, you are in over your head. The small corruption that was is now big corruption and the clouds are gathering. You again began to complain about the roof which had only a small leak will now have a big leak, all your “friends” agree that the leak is going to be bigger, because there was a small leak to begin with and the small leak was not your fault. Your “friends” will not tell you that it was you who made it worse than it was. You begin to gather buckets, pots and pans to catch the impending rain, but you discover that you do not have enough to catch the rain, your “friends” give you their buckets, pots and pans to catch the water to minimize the water damage. This process will continue on and on until you have completely corrupted the roof and nothing will keep the rain out, there will not be enough buckets, pots or pans in the world that can save the house from ruin. And still you and your “friends” will blame the former owner for the original leak, and you will even claim that the leak was getting worse anyway and your attempting to fix it without experience had nothing to do with it growing and ruining the house. What you needed from the start, when the leak was small and could be contained was a friend that did not always agree with you and would tell you the truth even if your feelings were hurt. He may even have said, hey you are no roofer you need a professional roofer, you will only make it worse. Your true friend would have also told you that your house is deeply in debt and that the whole house was your responsibility, the good and the bad. But you do not now or have you ever had such a friend as this. You will instead sit in the rain with no roof over your head and blame others for the rain, the water damage and the fact that you now have no roof, in a constant state of denial with all of your “friends”. Give the jet a rest and find a friend that will tell you the truth, your roof still leaks, your house is deep in debt, many of your neighbors are unemployed and the clouds are gathering.

Dangerous times ahead

The old adage, The ends justify the means, may come into play as the VA scandal unfolds. The secret waiting lists at the various VA Centers and Hospitals could have been purposeful. It was not all that long-ago that some liberal members of Congress openly stated “anyone who served in the military needed their heads examined”. The deaths that occurred while waiting for treatment at the VA will be divided into two groups, 1 those that died while awaiting medical treatment or procedures, 2 those that committed suicide while waiting for psychological counseling or treatment. Then the numbers will come into play. The numbers of veterans seeking medical treatment will be higher than veterans seeking psychological treatment, therefore the percentage of deaths by suicide will be greater. The numbers will be adjusted to raise the percentage, 1% of 100 is 1%, 1% of 10 is 10%, this is easily done, using smoke an mirrors, using these numbers a 10% suicide rate among veterans waiting for psychological help must be addressed. The various ways a person chooses to end their life will not be broken down into separate groups. Do you see where this is going yet? Yet another arm of the administration of BHO is going to be enabled by the Congress to make law. Congress will make no law requiring a psychological screening of veterans using VA psychological services, the VA will do it in the name of care. If a veteran fails the psychological screening, or refuses to submit to psychological screening, he or she could be placed on a list prohibiting the purchase or possession of firearms until such time the screening was passed. This requirement could be easily expanded to require all VA patients to undergo psychological screening. Would anyone pass? There may be a decline in the number of suicides by firearms, but the suicide rate would remain the same. The liberal politicians and the media would tout the success of mental health identification and restriction of firearm possession as a key element in reducing suicide by firearm. The NRA even said it is not a gun problem it is a mental health problem. Why the VA you ask? As a percent of the total population veterans are a very small part and our numbers drop daily. Where next would this lead? Do not think this can not happen.

Veterans are highly trained, motivated, skilled, disciplined and have a very strong sense of right and wrong. Think on this, many veterans are law enforcement officers or security personnel and are required to qualify with and carry firearms. They are required to do so to ensure continued employment. Could any of them pass an impassable test? I and many others do not use the VA, but I am sure they are working on that matter. The VA may even use the DOD to force us into coming to the VA for a screening, after all, the retirees are still subject to recall to duty up to a certain age. All the information they need to locate and identify retired veterans is available from the IRS, by way of a 1099R. The other veterans are also easy enough to find.

This is not about mental health, it is about gun control using a tactic straight out of Nazi Germany and the Enabling Act, attacking the smallest group first, then moving to the next. The VA could be used to disarm all of the veterans starting with the patients at the VA. All in the name of mental health. Why the veterans you ask?

I see many types of people at the local public shooting range, shooting all types of rifles and handguns, the veterans stand out. The shooters with military training as mentioned above are highly trained, motivated, skilled and disciplined and it shows in their shooting ability and accuracy. The shooters who have no military training empty the magazine as fast as they possibly can rarely hitting the target, and can barely control the gun. We refer to them as “spray and pray”.

There are many stories in history of a small group of highly trained, determined and motivated men and/or women bringing a much larger force to a complete halt on the battlefield. There are even stories of a single person stopping a much larger force in their tracks.

Now I will answer the question of why disarm the veterans first. The government is arming and preparing for who knows what. But if they are up to no good who would they rather face well-trained, highly motivated and determined or “spray and pray”.

Another old adage goes, “You can’t see the forest for the trees”. If the trees are everywhere you are in the forest. Let’s not lose sight of the “big picture”. This administration deserves to be watched like a hawk. Don’t be so focused on one scandal that we miss the real plan. I am still skeptical of the timing of all these revelations coming out of and about this administration.

Selective enforcement

A terrible door was opened when BHO began on his own, without Congress, delaying aspects of Obamacare and allowing waivers for certain groups. Congress took no action to stop him then, and now can take no action to stop the liberal agenda. The actions of BHO and the inactions of Congress have now ushered in the era of selective enforcement. If the trend of inaction by Congress continues they will give BHO and his administration complete and total control of the government and the people. It will be here, as it was in Nazi Germany when the Enabling Act was made law. The Congress, Parliament as it was known, had no authority to pass legislation, Hitler and his henchmen made and enforced all laws, the Constitution was null and void. The Weimar Constitution was never repealed, it was simply nullified by the Enabling Act. The biggest problem with selective enforcement is that it begins with selecting who the laws are enforced upon and who is exempt from enforcement, as one group is helpless the next group is chosen for enforcement, eventually eliminating all opposition. Think that can not happen here.

The IRS singling out the Tea Party groups was the use of an arm of the administration for enforcement of tax laws and codes. The Tea Party groups had to meet different standards than liberal groups. The silencing of the opposition began with this. Was this action taken by the administration on its own or did congress authorize it? Who will be silenced by the actions of the administration, and the inaction of Congress next? It may even be revealed that some members of Congress approved and encouraged the IRS actions, yes both parties. Added to this the IRS does not pursue tax cheats with the same aggression, some are not pursued at all and even given administration posts, while others are constantly hounded.

The sudden aggression by the BLM, in Bunkerville, has yet to be explained or justified by government.

Then there is this, the training, arming and equipping the law enforcement agencies and agencies in the administration just as well if not better than the military. For what purpose? Is there an external threat being faced in America that the population is unaware of? Is there an internal threat caused by selective enforcement of the borders? Or does the government fear the people? For a liberal administration, with liberal supporters that are so opposed to guns, none have even let out a whimper about the governments acquisition of ammunition, weapons and explosives. Are they really okay with the government having all the guns and power? As pointed out in previous posts the money used to fund the social welfare programs are a constant and unnecessary drain on the national treasure. The public, that is tax, money may be running out, the only money left soon may be personal wealth.

If enforcement of immigration laws is silly, why do we even have and pay for border patrol. If you do not enforce these laws why maintain an agency that is supposed to enforce the laws? What is their purpose? Could they be used to keep the people in that wish to escape persecution? No one is being kept out. The Border Patrol Agents are told to run away and seek cover if an illegal throws rocks at them. Will they have the same orders when people try to escape?

The time for Americans to unite is upon us, we can not let government separate us. What matters to you may not matter to me, and what matters to me may not matter to you, however we must stand for each other. If any group is silenced and falls by the wayside there will be fewer people to defend you, when your time comes, and it will.

Unintended consequences

Unintended consequences will always come to light, soon after the good idea, or what was thought to be one, is either passed into law or made mandatory by the administration.

The 18th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which abolished liquor may have seemed like a good idea to some in 1919, turned out to be a bad idea for all. I have thought on and studied this idiotic idea and can not come up with even one thing that would be a positive consequence. First revenue. The government was voluntarily giving up a source of revenue, every thing is taxed in one way or another and most are taxed repetitively. Second unemployment. The people who were employed at the breweries and distilleries suddenly found themselves unemployed. Third more lost revenue. The people who lost their jobs could not spend as they had nothing to spend, thereby effecting the economy of the surrounding areas. How many people lost their jobs, because others found themselves without a job. The truck drivers were not delivering goods to warehouses, stores or establishments, fewer people were going to restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Less delivery trucks were needed, how many in the automotive industry, manufacturing or repairs, found themselves out of work because of decreased demand. Service stations as they were known in those days were effected as there was less demand for fuel. How many lives were effected by lost wages? How much total revenue was lost during this time? The ripple effect of even one industry closing has effects out as far as the eye can see. Fourth the borders to the north and south were not secure then, the same as now. Canada and Mexico were still brewing and distilling, thereby providing a product that was still very much in demand, and profiting greatly from the stupidity of another. Fourth crime. Say hello to “bootleggers” and organized crime and a dramatically elevated crime rate. Fifth the Great Depression. Could the Great Depression have been prevented or lessened to a Deep Recession had the 18th Amendment never happened? Possibly. One thing for sure with the passage of the 21st Amendment in 1933, which repealed the 18th Amendment, a lot of people went to work earning wages, paying taxes and supporting the local economy, just 14 years earlier the 18th amendment seemed like such a good idea. 14 years of lost wages and revenue, for what, government’s good idea!!!!!!!! And finally you caused normally good and decent law-abiding citizens to participate in criminal activity just by enjoying a cold one or two after a long hard days work, just because you had a good idea, or so you thought.

Demanding that motor vehicles get better fuel mileage has had unintended consequences. Less revenue for the government, as less fuel is purchased, less highway taxes and less other taxes are paid. Less money is available for road repair, resurfacing or just plain improvements. The expression of “infrastructure decay” began shortly after government demands for increased fuel economy. People are still buying fuel, but motor vehicles getting better mileage combined with the constantly increasing prices has made the dollars go less distance, in other word words the cars are going farther on shorter roads. The demands on automakers to increase fuel mileage will soon if not already have a detrimental effect on safety, yet another unintended consequence. The vehicles are getting better fuel mileage, buying less fuel which leads to paying less highway taxes, using the highways and the highways and roads are needing repair. Now What? You want to place toll booths on the interstates. Where will the money come from to build the toll-booths up and down the many interstates? If there is no money for repairs, where will toll booth construction dollars come from. Will you steal it out of some other pile of money? Will you simply borrow it from some foreign government? How will you pay the many people who will be hired to support another money grabbing operation, after all they will surely be employed by some government agency? Will you claim that these jobs were created to repair the infrastructure of America? Then there is this “good idea” you have, highway usage taxes paid at the time of purchasing fuel. How the hell will you figure that? Will a lighter vehicle pay less than a heavy one, after all lighter vehicles cause less wear and tear. Or do they, their sheer numbers cause a lot of wear and tear. For me to get to town I use a combination of the following, a private road, that I alone maintain without any of your infrastructure dollars, a county road, cross over another county road and a state road, the last three are paid for with fuel purchases. How much more do you want? You should have thought about the loss of and less revenue, before demanding better fuel mileage. But that would have required thought, but you are incapable of that, so you would have paid tax dollars for a study or a commission to do that for you. Think about this many states get a lot of revenue from motor vehicle tags, people will stop making trips of less importance and may even eliminate the second or third car, having the unintended consequence of states losing revenue because of less motor vehicle registrations. Fewer vehicles on the road means less fuel purchases, thus compounding the problem and on and on it goes. What tax or fee will you seek next to make up another shortage that you alone caused? You are not capable of thought on your own, therefore you are unworthy to lead, you are too proud to follow, so do us all a favor and just get the hell out-of-the-way and let the private sector fix this and all the other unintended consequences you have caused, give them room and let them go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On your stupidity on gun control. You were never about controlling crime, you are about citizen control and making law-abiding citizens as dependent on government as your voluntary slaves are. The population of Americans that own firearms do so and the reasons run the entire gamut, from just to piss you off, self-defense, hunting or just to collect and preserve a piece of history, maybe an heirloom. Think on this for a moment. People do hunt, the money used to purchase licenses from the states for hunting are used to by various agencies within the state for wildlife management, and in some that is their only source of revenue. Again how many people would their jobs that depend on hunting? How many jobs depend on hunters? Gas stations, restaurants and even some large chain stores, not to mention entire industries that support hunting, clothing and the like. Not only that how many jobs would be lost in the firearms manufacturing industry and those that support it, manufacturers of ammunition and the like, and the ones that depend on it, shop owners. Who would occupy the empty buildings? Did you not learn anything from the 18th Amendment. Our economy is fragile, bordering on if not already in another recession, and the loss of an industry as large as the firearms industry would send us into another depression, even larger than the last. Say hello to crime again. As I said you are about population control not crime control, this path you are on will do the same as the 18th Amendment did, make criminals out of normally law-abiding citizens. As for me you will have to want to take it more than I want to keep it. The criminals will always be criminals and will seek the easiest victim or target.

I did not mention Benghazi, the IRS, Fast and Furious, Obamacare and the rest because of one important thing they all have in common. There were no unintended consequences in any of them. BHO and his administration knew exactly what they were doing and did not care about the consequences. This is best demonstrated by the demands and actions of the “elected” current leader of Afghanistan, he demanded money, a sort of “tribute”, for each “civilian” killed by military actions in that lovely country, and he was paid. He as a responsible leader should have done his best to protect the population by ensuring their safety, but instead he viewed them as a positive cash flow, and did nothing to ensure their safety, while he held up in a palace that was more of a fortress, safe and secure. There have been reports that he may be “coming to America”, Afghanistan might be unkind to him. But if he comes, will he be alone, or will many, many friends come with him? I close with this concerning the payments of “tribute”. Three important things about Libya, the airstrike that killed an armored vehicle occupied by insurgents, the theft of equipment at an American supply depot, unguarded of course, and finally the murder of 4 Americans, where after over 20 months not a single person responsible has been captured or killed. Did the administration pay a “tribute”?

More Non-Sense

The President, will today announce sweeping changes for the NSA. This is utter non-sense. If he can order changes, then he is aware of what they are collecting. The IRS, a Government agency(the one everyone fears) was used as a political weapon to attack conservative groups. What, is to say that this corrupt administration has not used the NSA as a weapon against his perceived foes? This is The United States of America, not some third world Banana Republic, where the Dictator uses his pen to make-up and change laws for his convenience or at his will. Our elected Congress does not have the intestinal fortitude to stop the President from disregarding the Constitution. Thus, Congress is complicit in his actions. It seems he can just order a change to laws(that have been passed by congress, signed by him and upheld by the Supreme Court) because he did not know or was not aware of problems with the roll-out of his pet legislation. This once great nation is slowly sliding into oblivion. Our only hope is that come Election Day the Electorate will correct the error that has been made and inflicted on America. But, as I pointed out above, the NSA has been collecting a lot of information about the citizens of America, and would be an effective weapon to use against opponents.
Now the President says “I have my pen and a phone”. The Speaker says “We have the Constitution”. News for you Mr. Speaker, he has used his pen a lot. When did you use the Constitution to stop him? If he were to sign an Executive Order nullifying the Constitution and declaring himself President for life, what would you do?
There was a time when men(not politicians) went to Washington for America, now politicians(not men) go for themselves and take(steal) whatever they can. How can so many public officials amass so much material wealth and risk nothing. What ever happened to “we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor”?. I guess that was a time when America was more important than politicians and their own agenda. When a politician is elected to office, they are done so, by a free choosing electorate and are well compensated for their services. Why, is it that they feel compelled to win re-election by “buying votes”? How will you win re-election when you have taken all there is from those of us who do pay taxes, and there is nothing left to give away? The office they hold is an Honor, and should be honored to serve. I have the utmost respect for the office, but the person holding that office must earn my Respect.
Speaking of compensation, have politicians earned theirs. As I pointed out you risk nothing. The men and women of our Armed Forces earn every penny. They risk it All everyday, whether training or in combat. Yet, they are insulted by a 1% raise. A friend said “they balanced the budget on the backs of our Military and Veterans”. My response was “No they didn’t, they balanced the budget on the backs of the smallest voting block”. Only 7% of the citizens have served in the Military and only 1.3% serve now. Considering 47% of Americans pay no income tax, of that most get back more than they pay in(I find this part most confusing. If I buy an item and then return it, I only get exactly what I paid for it). So 53% pay for 100% of everything, 47% pay for nothing and get everything, 1.3%(7% if you count all the veterans)safeguard the Freedom of 100%. Are the Military members justly compensated for their service?. I must say NO! When a Service Member RE-UPS, he or she has to sign a contract for a specific length of service and swears or affirms to up-hold the Constitution of The United States Of America. This all done willingly knowing the dangers that will be faced. Politicians, will you accept the same Compensation you so generously provide our Military, or will you continue to live your lavish lifestyle, enact laws that you do not have to live under and give away(if appropriate,and if not steal)the treasure(taxes paid by hard working Americans)of America.
Now, Normally I do not use profanity, but in my heyday as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army I could “cuss” for 10 minutes and never use the same word twice. I would enjoy the chance to discuss my views with any of you. This all you get for free.
