Oh, this just keeps getting….

Oh, this just keeps getting wackier by the day. Allegations of sexual misconduct are knocking on the door of Congress again. Another democrat, this time he is a member of the House. It has been said that Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. It would appear that some of our “esteemed” congress critters are absolutely corrupt.

I have said many times before, as I am sure others have said, government is all about power and control. It is a vicious circle more power equals more control, more control equals more power and on it goes.

When the seats of both chambers are occupied there is a grand total of 535 members of congress, they are our duly elected lawmakers. There does seem to be a problem with some of the duly elected congress critters, they seem not to possess the power to control themselves. Yet they have the power to control the rest of us, that seems kind of wacky.

To date the two that have been outed are democrats, one sitting Senator and one sitting Representative, one from each chamber. There have been no demands from other democrats of either chamber calling for either of these two to resign. There has been no call from the news media demanding that these two democrats resign. One liberal news outlet even suggested the senator was doing a mock grope.

It gets even wackier. Apparently there is a fund set aside to cover allegations from staff against congress critters. If congress “controls the purse strings” how did this hush fund become funded? What piece of legislation was this hush money tied to? How does it get replenished? Obviously it is tax-payer funded, I doubt that the congress creeps put a little in the “kitty” on each payday. This should piss off every tax-payer in this country. Tax-payer money being used to pay for congressional members misdeeds. What president signed the piece of legislation into law that keeps this “slush fund” funded into eternity? Is this discretionary or non-discretionary spending? It was the lack of discretion that caused it.

Hold on the wackiness is not over. There was a female representative who recently came out and talked about the ongoing problem of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct in congress, though she wont say names. She wants to reform the way the system works. She does not want to do away with the slush fund. Why not?

So what does congress plan to do to clean up its act? They will have mandatory classes on sexual harassment every two years.
